Hello Everyone!

Lindsey called today from satellite phone. She, Amanda and Nadia are in San Pablo working among the Yaminahua people for the next 4 months. This will be Lindsey's people group to minister to for the remainder of her 15 months. Some of you know that Lindsey and Katie were originally sent to the Culina people for two months for an investigative trip. There they found this group to be a thriving group of believers; therefore, there was no need for them to return. Lindsey's partner, Katie, has accepted the administrative position for the Xtreme team. They are all very excited for Katie! Amanda will be completing her term in February and Lindsey and Nadia will continue to work with the Yaminahua people.

Lindsey ask for your prayers as she begins to learn this new language. Continue to pray for safety and good health for all the team.

Pucallpa Times!!

So now we are here in Pucallpa! Actually been here for a while now. It is an interesting place. We are blessed with a great house and neighborhood! We have been taking spanish classes and learning more stories from the Word! We try to go out and meet people, though it is not the easiest place to do that. Most girls our age work full time. Our friend Flora is in one of the pictures below. She works from 10-10 everyday so it is very hard to spend time with her. However, God blessed us with meeting her and her mother! They are incredible people! Please keep this city in your prayers. This is our house, a ¨themepark¨we like to go to just for fun, our friend Flora, an idea of the city and transportation, along with a picture from just a fun crazy night we girls needed! There is not much to do in Pucallpa...but I see it as a great time to rest in the Word of the Lord! I have so much time to spend with Him!!

Video From Training!

Nadia put together some photos from training and made a video. This was a crazy time! We used these 3 months of our lives to learn approximately 30 Bible stories straight from scripture in Spanish to share as we spend the next 17 months of our lives here in Peru. This was an incredible opportunity to set aside so much time hiding the word of our Lord in our hearts (even though it is a language I don't fully understand yet! Keep me in your prayers!) We also spent this time learning spanish by living with 4 girls, native to Peru, and having all of our classes in spanish as well. It really was not an option not to learn, or at least improve. We spent much time in classes about the first church, as well as, learning skills to live out in the jungle. These were a hard 3 months, but I believe God blessed them all! I have become much more thankful for the people in my life and the blessing I have! God has shown me the importance of the prayers of my brothers and sisters on such a grander scale! Life is crazy in the jungle. But as hard as it was, God was with us through it all, and used it to bless each of our lives differently.

Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and recieve with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your soul! James 1:21

All the girls!!

For the past 2 months I have been living life in the jungle. There my team and I are learning the culture and language of the latins, as well as studying scripture and learning the Bible stories in spanish. It has been a crazy time to say the least. We definately have our difficulties and hardships, but the Lord is faithful and I am growing and learning daily. Currently there are 4 indiginous girls and the 4 of us gringas going through training, as well as 11 guys, 3 gringos. The hardest part of training is due to the plague we are currently under of mosquitoes (seriously, they are absolutely ridiculous. Even those who live here think they are extremely bad)! We each are bitten approximately 10,000 times a day, but you learn to deal with it. We get to experience interesting situations, and there are many funny stories. Also, bringing in the 2 cultures together is extremely interesting. We obviously all have our own way of looking at life. However, this is a great way to be humbled in your way of life, as well as realizing that we are united through Christ. He alone brings the love we have for one another, and gives us the humilty to give up all we know for others.

Currently, the hardest part for me is learning spanish. I am not very good, but slowly and surely I am progressing. All of our classes, stories, and most conversation is in spanish. Understanding what is being said is kind of a big deal. However, I am amazed at how much I do understand now. I started from nothing and have definately progressed. It is definately a time to trust the Lord and know in His strength alone will I learn this language and possibly others later on.

We were blessed this week with a break for a conference in Arequipa with the rest of the Xtreme team to get updates over the past year of ministry. I have enjoyed the luxuries of course, but I also feel that it has helped in my spanish as well. There are many latins on the team. It has been incredible seeing how God is moving. We leave tomorrow to head back to the jungle. 30 more days! Keep us in your prayers! I am actually excited to head back outside! The indoor classes can get old quickly, but the hardships are still there. However, I am going back with a heart of thankfulness, ready to seek the Lord´s strength, abounding in thankfulness for His amazing blessings, and praying daily for those who have yet to here the Word of the Lord.
